Part of my art training included a year at Prahran College of Advanced Education - majoring in sculpture. It was an eye-opener. Adventurous tutors and interesting fellow students. I didn't become an artist, but have pursued a passion for galleries and museums, curating exhibitions etc. My favourite time was the 14 years as Director or Horsham Regional Art Gallery, with its excellent photographic collection and wonderful supportive Council and community. It was while there that I met James McArdle and enjoyed working with him when he devised and curated Horsham's first touring exhibition - "Phiction: Lies, Illusion and the Phantasm in Photography". It was a terrific show, with a delightful difference - James teamed works from Horsham's collection with excerpts from Australian literature. It toured widely for several years. So it's great to be back working with him again and with some of the other working photographers who are part of the Prahran Legacy.
